abstract = "Worldwide, exotic species play a important role to biodiversity,
once numerous species are spreading uncontrollably and dominating
different ecosystems, interfering in the balance of these areas,
and even modifying the natural features of the landscape. Despite
of all the studies, the distribution of Annoni Grass in large and
continuous mapping units, as well as its quantification and the
spatial advance that it has been presenting through the territory
of Rio Grande do Sul are still unknown. Normally, to identify
vegetation species in large mapping units, indirect estimates such
as remote sensing techniques are used. However, identifying
species requires not only indirect estimates, but also an analysis
of the field data collected about the observed species that allows
us to characterize them spectrally. Thus, to differentiate the
spectral response of Annoni Grass, it was performed a
spectroradiometry measurement of different species of grasses
predominant in the Ibirapuit{\~a} Planning and Management Unit
(UPG) of the Ibicu{\'{\i}} River watershed, in the Southwest
region of the State. The spectral response of the intermediate
part of the leaves of the grasses was collected in loco under real
conditions of the environment. After the statistical analysis, it
was verified that in the visible and near infrared,
i.e.,wavelength from 500nm to 900nm, the possibilities of spectral
separability of the Annoni Grass are higher in relation to the
other species. Within this context, we conclude that along the
wavelength there are significant differences in the spectral
response of the Annoni Grass when compared with the analyzed
                         species.",
